Italianieuropei is the journal that the Fondazione Italianieuropei publishes since 2001

What can the role of the Left be vis-à-vis the Twenty-first century challenges?

Is there any room for a reformism capable of tackling contemporary issues such as liberties, rights and innovation?

If we consider the history of the last decade, in Europe and beyond, the answer can only be positive. Reformism’s heritage of ideas can feed advanced experiences of government, able to widen the boundaries of freedom and justice. Italianieuropei wants to offer a forum for high profile debates and reflection to Italy’s diverse political and cultural traditions that share that same heritage.

Left and Right shall confront, both in the arena provided for by representative institutions and in that of the ideas. And Italianieuropei wants to contribute to this exchange of views with the best Italian and European reformist intellectual production, because it believes that the strength of the Left has always been the vitality of its ideas.

All over Europe, during the last ten years, reformism has been asked to redefine the basis of its own political culture, in order to measure itself with the tangles of European integration and with the needs of development. The best results, in terms of consensus and growth, have been achieved where reformism has been more daring and consistent, and for this reason, Italianieuropei intends to support the Italian Left’s cultural and political innovation, taking into account both the national political agenda and the analysis of the European and international reformism.
